Villars & Chablais Cricket Club
Villars & Chablais Cricket Club was founded in 2002 by a committed group of enthusiasts, and in its short
lifetime the club has established a reputation for playing the game in the best traditional spirit of
commitment, fair play and friendliness.
The club membership is composed of experienced players as well complete beginners. It has been part of
the club's purpose to introduce cricket to players of all ages unfamiliar with the game, and also to maintain
a truly international mix. Since its inception, the club has welcomed members from Switzerland, The United
Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Canada, the USA, Italy, Spain and Holland. In addition, the
club has always put an emphasis on the encouragement of young cricketers of school age.
The club is a wandering side, affiliated to the Swiss Cricket Association, and organizes approximately
6 matches each season, primarily in May, June, August and September against other clubs in the Cantons of Geneva and Vaud.
In 2004 VCCC won its first trophy, becoming the undefeated 8-a-side champions in the Cossonay Cricket Festival
(Vaud, Geneva). Several players have made appearances for the Vaud cantonal team.
